"The Last Heroes of the Empire" gathers, for the first time, the names of all the military of the three branches of the Armed Forces - Navy, Army and Air Force - decorated from 1963 to 1980, with the Tower and Sword, Military Value and War Cross, for acts of heroism and value practiced in campaigning in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea.
Several testimonies, from sergeants to general officers, who participated in the war, tell us of horrors and the value of our military. The ceremonies that were set out annually were the vastness of "Terreiro do Paço" and the names of all the dead in the campaign, so that they may never be forgotten.
